Brainydaps Technology Limited has been officially granted Startup Label recognition under the Nigeria Startup Act, through the Startup Nigeria Portal: a landmark initiative coordinated by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI).
This is not a milestone we take lightly. Earning the Startup Label means Brainydaps has met the eligibility requirements and cleared the assessment process established by the Federal Republic of Nigeria: a process designed to ensure that only genuinely innovative, compliance-ready companies earn a place within Nigeria’s recognised digital ecosystem.
The Startup Label is, at its core, a national statement of credibility. Under the Nigeria Startup Act 2022, it is awarded to companies that demonstrate technology-driven innovation, a validated product or process, regulatory compliance, and a credible path to scale and economic impact.
For Brainydaps, this recognition confirms what our team has been working toward: building something real, structured, and built to last.
Beyond the recognition itself, the Startup Label unlocks a range of practical benefits that will directly support our growth. These include access to funding opportunities; grants, seed funding, and investment support; alongside tax and fiscal incentives designed specifically for Nigerian startups. We also gain access to capacity-building programmes, mentorship, regulatory guidance, innovation sandbox participation, and collaboration channels with government bodies, investors, and peer startups.
Each of these is part of a deliberate national effort to build an ecosystem where technology companies can grow, hire, and compete; not just within Nigeria, but on the global stage.
We think of this approval as a starting point more than a finish line. It positions Brainydaps more visibly within Nigeria’s technology ecosystem, strengthens our credibility with investors and strategic partners, and opens doors to collaboration with innovation hubs and institutions we want to grow alongside.
The infrastructure being built through organisations like ONDI exists to help startups move from early-stage ideas to scalable solutions. We intend to make full use of it.
